Ever wonder if reading the Bible is really worth doing every day. I asked God about that, and soon started scribbling this down.
The Word of God leads me to mercy,
promises me deliverance,
brings me strength,
grants me wisdom,
and offers me life itself.
The Word of God can be my song,
or my lamp,
or my shield
as I need them.
The Word of God opens my eyes to needs,
opens my mind to truth,
opens my heart to share.
The Word of God directs my path,
and corrects my mistakes,
and protects my soul.
The Word of God nourishes my spirit,
renews my mind,
it cleanses my way.
The Word of God provides a foundation to stand on,
a standard to aim at,
and a future to hope in.
The Word of God is light in the darkness,
heat in the coldness,
water in the desert,
and comfort in affliction.
The Word of God ushers me into praise,
guides me to obedience,
drives me to righteousness,
pulls me to salvation.
The Word of God flows from the Bible when I read it with faith
and flows from His voice when He speaks to my spirit.
The Word of God is more than enough to keep me on the right track,
doing the right things,
while thinking the right thoughts,
to arrive at the right hand of God,
kneeling before the Right One.
I really feel like reading my Bible right now.
Hope you will too.
