Beloved Christian, if you want to live a more God pleasing and God honoring life, I humbly suggest you focus on this one thing first.

Deliberately seek and genuinely yield to the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is as gentle as a breeze, and as powerful as a tornado. He moves with purpose, unseen, but never unfelt. He is God within us, and the power of God around us. He is the Spirit of your Father, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Jesus Christ, the Spirit of Holiness, the Spirit of promise, and the Spirit of glory. He is the Spirit of the living God.

Many of us vow to be better at Christian disciplines. We commit to more prayer, consistent Bible ready, and breaking bad habits. The brutal truth is that praying more, reading your Bible daily, and changing your lifestyle can be futile if you do these apart from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God’s gift of spiritual power to change you from within. Oh how we desperately need him.

Guards Our Heart
The Holy Spirit bestows comfort, peace, and joy.
God’s love pours into us through Him.
He brings us spiritual power and spiritual fruit.
He invites intimacy between our heart and the Father through our spirit.

Protects Our Mind
The Holy Spirit reminds us of Jesus’ words.
He teaches us and reveals to us the things of God.
He imparts spiritual knowledge.
He prepares us for struggles to come.
He is our conduit to righteousness.

Improves Our Prayers
The Holy Spirit brings power and direction to our prayers.
When we do not know what to pray or how to pray, He does.
Relying on Him unleashes power in our prayers.

Sets Our Way
The Holy Spirit directs our path, even by forbidding or blocking our way.
He grants us spiritual gifts to carry out God’s call.
He guides the church in selecting leaders and making rules.
He brings sanctification.

Tames Our Tongue
When we don’t know what to say, The Holy Spirit provides the words.
When needed, He enables us to prophesy.
He is the source of boldness in speaking God’s word.
He empowers our ability to witness.

Without a doubt, the Holy Spirit is our source of spiritual life and power. Seeking and yielding to Him unlocks spiritual blessings in myriad ways. Doing this one thing well leads to doing all things well.
